The Illinois Senate on Wednesday voted to confirm former Republican state Rep. Raymond Poe of Springfield as the Department of Agriculture director.

 

Poe was approved without opposition by a vote of 56-0.

 

A third-generation farmer, Poe called the job a dream come true.
