IFCA Needs Volunteers to Test Tier 2 Reporting System

Do you remember last year when the state's Tier 2 reporting system crashed, making it nearly impossible to file your chemical inventory reports by March 1 unless you:  a) logged in after midnight; b) logged in after repeatedly getting bumped off and starting over; or c) resorted to a stiff drink to recover after you re-typed everything into the federal Tier 2 system.  Well, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency was extremely apologetic about this and recently met with IFCA and the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois (CICI) to let us know that fixing the Tier 2 program has been their top priority.  After much work, they feel it is ready but they want to test it before the reporting season begins.

IFCA is asking for a dozen volunteers from the ag retail locations to test the Tier 2 system the week of October 19th.  It will only take 1-2 hours and will give us all a better idea if the system is truly fixed.  CICI is also lining up a dozen volunteers.  Let's help IEMA and ourselves, and do a good test run.  To volunteer, email Jean Payne at jeanp@ifca.com before October 15, give your name and company and we'll fill you in with details as the test period approaches.  You will be able to enter chemicals from a previous year's report, again this is just a test.  Thank you!
