Although there have been many changes in the CDL rules the past year, in Illinois you can still get a CDL at age 18, and can also get a hazmat endorsement at age 18.  However, this is only available to persons operating intrastate (within state lines).  IFCA works closely with the Illinois Secretary of State on CDL rules as well as licensing issues, so if you ever have problems related to CDLs or licensing of your vehicles or implements, give us a call and we can work with the SOS to assist you.  As you prepare for fall, there is also a provision to obtain a restricted CDL to transport anhydrous ammonia.  Please visit the IFCA website to learn about the restricted CDL or call our office for assistance.
