IFCA May 2015 Keep it 4R Crop Report

Each month, IFCA publishes a two page bulletin to update our members and other nutrient stakeholders (environmental groups, state agencies, water supply and water treatment officials and other ag groups) on our industry's latest efforts to provide solid agronomic expertise based upon the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship.

In the May report, we feature IFCA member Jerry Harbour of Prairieland FS and his 4R efforts with his customers, and the report also features an update on nitrate levels this spring in several of the major drinking water supplies--please read to find out how things are going.  Click here to access the report, and feel free to share it.  If you have a 4R story to share for future editions, please contact Jean Payne.

Starting tomorrow, there are a series of statewide meetings being held in June to inform farmers and the ag industry of the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy.  Click here to view the dates and locations of the meetings.  Two CEU credit hours in nutrient management are available for CCAs who attend.  IFCA staff will present information on nutrient practices that can help reduce nutrient losses at the meetings.  We hope to see you there!
