June Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy Meetings
Throughout the month of June, there will be meetings throughout the state, hosted by county Farm Bureaus, to raise awareness among farmers of how agriculture is impacted by the soon to be released Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy. IFCA staff will participate among several presenters at these meetings to discuss nutrient stewardship practices that can help protect against nutrient losses and enhance nutrient use efficiency. Click here to view the dates, times and locations of the meetings. Please note the Jacksonville location is now at Hamilton's Fireside Room in Jacksonville. You must contact your local county Farm Bureau to register. It will take everyone in agriculture working together to reduce nutrient losses and these meetings are an important first step in educating everyone on what we must accomplish in the next 10-15 years to improve water quality. Two CEUs in nutrient management are available for CCAs attending the meetings. Please go to www.ifca.com for more information on the Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy and "Keep it 4R Crop" nutrient stewardship efforts.
