April "Keep it 4R Crop" Report
Each month, IFCA creates and distributes a two page "Keep it 4R Crop" bulletin that features the progress being made in our industry to increase nutrient utilization and protect water quality using the 4R nutrient stewardship approach. To see the April edition, please click here or go to our website at www.ifca.com to see this and other nutrient stewardship news.
Each month we will feature an IFCA member who is promoting the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship. This month there is a story on Will Glazik from Crop Production Services of Melvin and his work with his farmer customers. We also have a story on fertilizer sales trends that reveal changes underway, NREC research on nitrogen losses and the fact that Illinois leads the country in the number of CCAs. Please email Jean Payne at jeanp@ifca.com with ideas for future stories or retailers we can feature, we have many but are always taking suggestions.
This bulletin goes not just to IFCA members, but also to environmental groups, water supply and waste water officials, state agency personnel, other ag groups and we are working on a larger media campaign when IFCA releases the 4R Code of Practice this summer. If you need brochures about 2015 NREC projects we can send you those as well to share with your customers. If you have any questions or comments about our nutrient stewardship efforts, please give us a call. It is our goal to keep Illinois in a strong leadership position when it comes to reducing nutrient losses and proving that voluntary efforts are working. Be safe in your continued spring application work!
