Pollution Control Tax Credit for Containment

AT the time the agrichemical facililty containment rules went into effect, the IFCA was able to work with the legislature to ensure that containment structures for fertilizers and agrichemicals would be eligible for a Pollution Control Facility tax credit.  There is a form you can complete to indicate what the fair cash value is of your containment systems relative to the value of your entire facility.  You also need to prove that you have a current Part 255 containment permit.  The Illinois EPA reviews the application, and if accepted, they notify the IL Dept of Revenue of the approval and return a certificate to you that you can file with your county clerk to receive a property tax credit on your tax bill, and you must also file an annual PTAX-401 form to continue to receive the reduced assessment.  Even if you put in containments years ago, the tax credit still applies, so if you want to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact IFCA for asssitance.
