4R Keep it for the Crop Report Features IFCA Members

The November 2014 "Keep it for the Crop" newsletter features stories from a farmer's perspective and two IFCA members who are actively engaged in promoting the 4R approach with their customers to improve nutrient utilization and reduce nutrient losses.  Please click here to view the newsletter.  It is also available at www.ifca.com.  Nutrient management and utilization by the crop in 2014 helped protect drinking water supplies, and our industry's proactive, voluntary efforts are being recognized.  As IEPA prepares to release the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy, please be thinking about how your business can promote the products and services you provide within a 4R framework to help your farmer customers, and the entire ag industry, ensure that we retain ownership of nutrient management by consistently demonstrating our expertise to the public and to regulatory agencies.  Consumers and food companies are also paying close attention to the 4R program and the accountability we can provide to them on sustainability programs.  There is good news to share in this regard!

If you have ideas for future stories on the 4R approaches being adopted by IFCA members (i.e. your company), please contact Jean Payne and IFCA will include these stories in future newsletters and presentations on the Illinois "Keep it 4R Crop" program.  Thanks for your stewardship efforts!
