The US House of Repesentatives voted 262-152 to block the USEPA and the US Army Corps of Engineers from implementing the proposed "Waters of the US (WOTUS)" rule.  Agriculture, construction, mining, municipalities and many other industries have been submitting comments in opposition to WOTUS.  While the move by the US House is positive, there is still the US Senate and the Executive Branch that must be convinced to stop the rulemaking from proceeding.  Therefore, we must keep the comments flowing in to USEPA to build upon the groundswell of opposition to this rule, which many view as a considerable overreach of federal power over all activities around or near water, including waterways and ditches in agricultural lands.  Click here http://www.ifca.com to be directed to the IFCA homepage where you can find a one page help sheet on how to send your comments to USEPA; it is easy!  The comment period is open until October 20, 2014.
