The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) offers online pesticide license exams and limited in-person pesticide exams. An estimated 15,000 to 20,000 individuals are expected to take state license certification exams during the 2021 certification year.
 
Starting Jan. 1, IDOA began offering a few limited in-person testing sessions. Seating is limited due to COVID restrictions. Most locations allow only eight to 10 people with the largest site only seating up to 25. Individuals must preregister for an in-person exam, and registration closes when a class is full.
