Drift complaints storm ag department

Since joining the Illinois Department of Agriculture in 1989, Deputy Director Warren Goetsch watched the number of annual pesticide drift complaints jump from an average 125 to 430 in 2017.
 
The cause? Dicamba.
 
“The addition of dicamba for use on soybeans and cotton has provided for some major challenges. I think Illinois was either third or fourth in the number of complaints from the previous year,” Goetsch said.
