NH3 Competent Attendant Training: On-Line Training Begins Sept 1
3. It will take 30-40 minutes to complete the training and take the knowledge assessment. You can print your certificate at the completion of the program, and the certificate will also be emailed to you. You must keep this certificate at your place of business. IDA will accept this certificate as proof of training for this fall. IFCA will also submit a roster of everyone who took the training to IDA.
4. The cost for the on-line training is $15. The registration page will accept a credit card. This fee helps to offset the cost of IFCA developing and hosting this program for our industry.
5. The certificate expires on January 1, 2021. IFCA and IDA hope to return to a classroom setting for competent attendant training in the spring of 2021.
6. Please be sure to complete the training prior to working with ammonia this fall. New hires must also take this training, but you should also have a trained and experienced competent attendant at your company perform hands-on training with them to assure they fully understand the safety, first aid and emergency response procedures when handling ammonia, applying ammonia or working with ammonia equipment.
This flyer explains the on-line training program in more detail. If you have any problems with the on-line program, please call our office at 309.827.2774 and select extension 3 to be transferred to John Rebholz.
New requirements for ammonia training for farmers and farm employees or family members who transport, apply or work with ammonia or ammonia equipment will go into effect in early 2021. Stay tuned this winter for more details on that program.
